LIFT Airline has soared to new heights by claiming their first-ever Skytrax award, being named the “Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa” for 2024 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards. The accolade, announced on 24 June, is a significant milestone for the South African carrier, which has been operational for less than four years.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards, held annually, are determined by a global customer satisfaction survey, making them a highly coveted honor in the aviation industry. LIFT triumphed over tough competition, dethroning previous winner FlySafair, to secure this prestigious recognition.
LIFT CEO Jonathan Ayache expressed his excitement over the award.

In addition to the Skytrax honor, LIFT Airline has also been recognized as the “Best New Airline Brand” in South Africa earlier this year by Global Brands Magazine (GBM*. This global accolade celebrates the airline’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the aviation industry.
The GBM award is given annually to companies that set themselves apart with exceptional service and a unique vision. LIFT has demonstrated both in its short history, as confirmed by this prestigious recognition.
