The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has unveiledIATA Connect, a secure digital platform aimed at creating a community of aviation safety have access to a secure repository for safety documentation, making it easier to share IOSA audit reports, standards, and guidance materials. The platform also features analytical and benchmarking tools. Initially, the community includes 2,300 aviation safety professionals from IOSA-registered airlines, regulators, and auditors.
“IATA Connect will provide aviation safety and compliance professionals in both government and the industry with a means to make flying even safer by facilitating real-time collaboration,” remarked Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General. He added that by centralising IOSA audit data and simplifying information exchange, the platform promises enhanced efficiency and oversight for aviation safety.
In response to the growing challenges posed by increasingly complex aviation operations, IATA Connect will streamline the management of compliance documentation. The platform will also be available via a mobile app, which will include access to Safety Connect—a forum for specific operational areas like cargo and cabin safety—and the Safety Issue Hub, where users can post and prioritise safety risks.
Looking ahead, IATA plans to expand the platform’s capabilities to further support the aviation safety community.
