AIR CANADA PILOTS APPROVE NEW FOUR-YEAR COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

Air Canada has announced that its more than 5,200 pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), have approved a new four-year collective agreement. The agreement, retroactive to September 30, 2023, covers pilots at both Air Canada and its subsidiary, Air Canada Rouge.

Michael Rousseau, President and CEO of Air Canada, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, highlighting its mutual benefits. “This agreement keeps our pilots the best compensated in Canada while providing the work-life balance improvements they sought. It also offers the company the flexibility and stability to continue growing its network and operations,” said Rousseau.

The agreement ensures that Air Canada pilots remain the highest paid in the Canadian aviation industry, reinforcing their position in the competitive commercial air transport market. It also creates a solid framework that supports Air Canada’s future growth and strategic objectives.

This positive outcome is seen as a significant step forward in maintaining a strong partnership between Air Canada and its pilots, ensuring operational efficiency and enhancing the airline’s capacity for expansion.
