BELL TEXTRON CANADA DONATES AIRCRAFT COMPONENTS TO SIIT, EMPOWERING INDIGENOUS AVIATION TRAINING

Bell Textron Canada Limited, a Textron Inc. subsidiary, has donated 1,800 aircraft components valued at 6.2 million CAD to the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT). The donation, consisting of machined parts, sheet metal, acrylic plastics, and mechanical and electrical components, is intended to enrich SIIT’s Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program. Students will gain valuable, hands-on experience with real aircraft parts, enhancing their training and skills development.

Michael Nault, General Manager at Bell Textron Canada, emphasized Bell’s commitment to education and Indigenous youth empowerment, stating, “We are proud to support SIIT and the development of future aviation professionals.” The donation aligns with Bell’s broader mission of advancing aerospace education and community involvement. SIIT’s Dean of Trades & Industrial, Mark Pollard, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the benefits for Indigenous students in building successful aerospace careers.
