Lilium N.V. (NASDAQ:LILM), the developer of the first all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet, and a global pioneer in regional air mobility (RAM), has announced an exciting new phase in its partnership with Luxaviation Group, one of the largest business aircraft and helicopter operators worldwide.
This expanded partnership will leverage ExecuJet’s extensive network of Fixed Base Operations (FBOs), along with newly developed locations, to establish electrified ground infrastructure for the Lilium Jet in key markets across Europe and the Middle East. ExecuJet, a subsidiary of Luxaviation Group, is renowned for its industry-leading ground handling services and first-class facilities for business aircraft, passengers, and crew.
The collaboration between Lilium and Luxaviation, ongoing since 2022 through Luxaviation’s subsidiary Sigma Air Mobility, focuses on aligning operations and ground infrastructure as a critical step toward regional electric aviation. ExecuJet’s recent acquisition of Sky Valet expanded its global footprint to 141 FBOs, reinforcing its pivotal role in the Lilium Jet’s growing EMEA networks.
A targeted area for electrification includes ExecuJet’s expanded presence in France, in partnership with EDEIS, a leading French engineering and infrastructure management firm. Key locations like Aix-en-Mille in Aix-en-Provence are strategically positioned to support the Lilium Jet’s operations.
Luxaviation Group is committed to the potential of eVTOL and RAM, integrating these advancements into its decarbonization roadmap. Sigma Air Mobility aims to develop decarbonized air mobility solutions for Luxaviation Group, supporting the transition to green aviation.
Patrick Hansen, Chief Executive Officer of Luxaviation Group, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “Luxaviation has the expertise, size, and global presence to further the green agenda. We are advancing towards green business aviation by identifying and supporting initiatives at our FBOs, leveraging new technology like the Lilium Jet.”
Christophe Lapierre, Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Air Mobility, highlighted the shift from development to deployment in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), noting, “The establishment of local operations, airspace integration, and ground infrastructure becomes essential. We’re pleased to enter this new phase with Lilium to address these enablers for the first European networks in sustainable aviation.”
Sebastien Borel, Chief Commercial Officer of Lilium, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership’s progression, saying, “We’re delighted to embark on the next stage of our valued partnership with Luxaviation Group. A robust and interconnected operational network is crucial to making sustainable regional air mobility a success, and Luxaviation’s ExecuJet network of FBOs strongly demonstrates this. We’re excited to work together to bring the Lilium Jet to these key markets.”
The expanded partnership between Lilium and Luxaviation marks a significant step forward in realizing the vision of sustainable regional air mobility. With its pioneering Ducted Electric Vectored Thrust (DEVT) architecture, the Lilium Jet offers remarkable efficiency and accessibility to regional aviation, all with zero operating emissions.
