The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced the appointment of Laura Everington as its new Director of Flight Operations and Regulations. Everington, a seasoned expert with over three decades of experience in the aviation industry, brings a wealth of regulatory knowledge to her new role.
In her position, Everington will serve as the staff liaison to both the Regulatory Issues Advisory Group (RIAG) and the International Operations Committee (IOC). She will also oversee NBAA’s Operations Service Group (OSG), manage special projects, and provide technical expertise on legislative, regulatory, and flight operations matters.
“Laura brings decades of regulatory analysis and engagement to our team that will benefit the entire business aviation community,” said Doug Carr, NBAA’s senior vice president for safety, security, sustainability, and international affairs.
Everington’s extensive background includes a long tenure at Universal Weather & Aviation, Inc., where she began her career in 1988. Most recently, she served as Senior Manager of Government and Industry Affairs, where she was instrumental in shaping strategies and building relationships with key global stakeholders.
Beyond her work at Universal, Everington has been an active member of NBAA’s committees, serving as a member of the RIAG, past chair of the NBAA Security Council, and a member of the IOC. She has also represented the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) at prominent forums like ICAO/WCO/IATA, and was a part of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) GA Industry Working Group.
A respected speaker, Everington has shared her expertise on regulatory issues at over 100 industry events worldwide.
NBAA, founded in 1947 and headquartered in Washington, DC, continues to be a leading voice for companies using general aviation aircraft, representing over 10,000 members and providing a wide range of services to the business aviation community.
